Tulbagh Christmas in Winter 2015

Sisters: Amanda, Jessica and Samantha

Last Sunday our family went to Tulbagh for the "Christmas in Winter" weekend event. You might think it's strange that I'm doing a post about Christmas in the month of June. While all my readers in the Northern Hemisphere are having fun in the sun, we're experiencing winter below the Equator. We don't get to experience a cold Christmas, so a historical town near us got this neat idea to have a yearly event during our winter in June that includes Santa and Glühwein (German mulled wine).

It's worth it!

Tulbagh had a well organized two-day event. Entrance tickets were not expensive and you only had to pay once for both days. Included was a brochure with a map and program as well as a Christmas hat. For a little bit more money you could go wine tasting at the many different wine estates with the wine glass that was included. Kids were for free.

We spent most of our time on Church Street looking at the various food and craft stalls, museums, and art galleries. The museums were included in the price of the tickets. We only visited two wine estates as half of our group wasn't old enough to do the wine tasting. We do want to go back, because Tulbagh has many wine estates and we would love to visit them.
