Nuy Valley Wine Tasting - Part 4

We took the next tractor ride to the Nuy Winery where we tasted more wines from the Nuy Valley wine region.

My favorite white wine was the Chant de Nuit "Night Song", and Hubby bought a case for me, since it was almost Mother's Day.

I loved this posy of cosmos flowers on this lady's table. You can find her yummy pastries the first Saturday of every month at the Green Shed "Groenstoor" in Worcester.

The colorful cupcakes were at the Creative Wonders table - CW Laser Cutting and Design - by Carina du Toit. I loved how the red grape leaves were in the background of this pretty stand.

This gentleman served the best stew at the event. It was mutton. Hubby and I devoured a plateful between the two of us.

We took the next tractor ride to Leipzig, the last wine estate of the day. We didn't do any further wine tasting, but Hubby did try some craft beer. You can see more photos of the art and wines at Leipzig on Part 1 when we visited earlier this year.

Hubby tried the American IPA, Honey Ale and Dry Irish Stout craft beers by the BeerFly Brewing Company based in Cape Town. Their name was inspired by the Dutch word "Biervliegje" that describes insects with a taste for alcoholic beverages. His favorite was the Honey Ale.

We visited all the wine farms and the olive farm in the Nuy Valley. The Nuy Valley Feast was a great experience and very well organized. It's an annual food and wine event on the Breedekloof Wine Route, just over an hours drive from Cape Town.

Nuy Valley Wine Tasting - Part 3

The Nuy Valley Feast is an annual food and wine event in one of the Western Cape's largest wine-producing regions, the Breedekloof Wine Route in the Breede River Valley. We took part on Saturday the 9th of May, the day before Mother's Day, and had a fabulous time.

Today's photos were taken at the Conradie Family Vineyards and the Nuy Valley Guest Farm. The wines at Conradie Cellar are exceptional. We've been impressed every time we visit.

I've included lots of great links above and below, so be sure to check them out!

There's an owl sanctuary and other birds of prey at Eagle Encounters where they rehabilitate, release birds, promote conservation and education, on land donated by Spier. A couple of guys from Eagle Encounters brought two owls and two other birds of prey to the Nuy Valley Feast to help spread awareness. We were allowed to touch the owls who had been previously illegally owned and hand raised.
