An Afternoon at Velddrif

If you've been following my mom blog, Amanda's Books and More, then you'll have seen a couple of today's photos. We spent an afternoon in Velddrif on South Africa's West Coast. Three of our kids came with.

Port Owen

We drove into Port Owen, looking for a scenic spot where we could get milkshakes. We found a restaurant bustling with a stream of Christmas holiday makers like ourselves. The place was so busy that the waitress told us there was a long wait for food orders. We told her that we had come for milkshakes only. We didn't wait terribly long, but the milkshakes were the worst we'd ever had. Amanda liked hers, but the rest of us didn't and I left mine unfinished.
